Poetry Film Screening
Masar Smari and Abhishek Singh presents
POETRY FILM SCREENING
On 28 June 2026, we invite you to a special screening of our short film project, Entfremdung (Alienation), a visual poetry film series exploring the human experience through fragmented narratives, cinematic imagery, and poetic reflection. Previously screened and recognized at international film festivals, the series brings together award-winning works that reflect on modern exile, memory, identity, the silent struggles that shape and the distance that often exists between ourselves and the world around us.
The screening will feature four completed short poetry films, each approaching alienation from a different perspective:
Sleeping in Another Galaxy
An intimate portrait of the tension between creative ambition and the realities of survival. The film reflects on the sacrifices people make when dreams are set aside in pursuit of stability.
I Came From There
Inspired by the life and poetry of Sargon Boulos, this film explores exile, memory, and the enduring connection between a person and their homeland.
Leaving the Track of the Throw
A reflection on routine and repetition, where characters move through changing environments yet remain trapped in the same recurring patterns.
The Plot Reserved for the Only Child
A personal exploration of loneliness, loss, and the ways emotional burdens can be carried across generations.
